BOTANICAL PASSION IN THE MASSIF OF MORVAN
Located in France in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and situated on the borders of 4 departments which are Nièvre, Saône Et Loire , Yonne and Cote D'Or,The Morvan, a radiant and welcoming territory embellished with a regional natural park enchants with
the  beauty  and  diversity  of  its  landscapes complemented by wild and natural spaces that botany and flora discovery enthusiasts never tire of discovering.
Considered the smallest mountain area in France both in surface  area and in altitude since its highest point is the Haut
Folin which peaks at 901 meters above sea   level, The  Morvan Massif is also, like the Massif Central and the Armorican Massif, a Hercynian-type area made up of granite and ancient  volcanic rocks and benefiting climatically from a balance
between oceanic  and  continental climates , supplemented by an  influence mountainous in addition to having a dense
hydrographic network also  including  many  well-preserved  lakes often surrounded by wooded areas which make it an
area where the forests are substantial and very present.Endowed with great landscapes where magical and enchanting
colors emerge at  sunrise, the  Massif  Of The  Morvan  is  embellished with  multiple  natural spaces  which are also the
privileged domain of a rich flora characterized by the presence of more than 200 plant species that we come across and
spots during tours and hikes which delight botany enthusiasts such as the members of the network of French-speaking botanists created in  2009  BOTANICAL TILE  and  counting to  date  more  than 64,000 botanists  as they explain to me
Yvon CROIZER, Jean Pierre  LANSELIN  and  Francine RICHARD,  passionate  botanists whom I met in the Glenne forest near the Canche gorges  in  the  department  of  SAÔNE ET  LOIRE in the heart of the regional natural park. »One of the important data of the Morvan Massif which explains the diversity and  the  particularities of the implantation of its flora
originates from its ecological, climatic and  geological  conditions, which  include  impacts on the plant landscape of the
massif in addition to the fact that almost half of it is made up of wooded areas or there are nearly 150 species of plants,
mostly called "Spring Plants" also taking into account the sunshine in the undergrowth and the low density of foliage at this time of year which allow us to rub shoulders with species such as daffodils, anemones and wood balsams, oxalis and
sorrels same title as blueberries very present, in particular,in forest clearings and whether one is a professional botanist or a passionate amateur botanist, it is always a constantly renewed  pleasure to  find  species plants  which vary in their
shapes, their  colors, their  scents and  their uses  whether  they are ecological , environmental, gastronomic or medical"
These 3 botanists passionate  tell me while walking in the Glenne forest.

Preserving a Rich and Diverse Flora

To furrow  Massif Of The Morvan  is an unforgettable getaway because you will discover many natural spaces very often preceded by morning mists which cover , like a big cloud , the foothills of its mountains and its valleys and which are

reminiscent of an impressionist painting with a particularity that is pleasant to contemplate in these places expressing all the diversity of our territories integrating the good practices of respectful ecotourism of the environment in parallel with the fact that it benefits from a climate conducive to the development and preservation of a rich and diverse in parallel with the fact that it benefits from a climate conducive to the development and preservation of a rich and diverse flora that is also found in the other natural spaces of the massif which also includes 12 sites classified in the network NATURA 2000 which are wet meadows, marshy areas, river and stream banks as well as peat bogs and which are decorated with species, some of which are protected, including mountain arnica, parnassus or marsh thistle, colonies of meadows, water clover ans different varieties of sphagnum moss. After a stop at the village of Villapourcon in the departement of Niévre

which is very welcoming due to its local architecture , head towards Mont Beuvray which is majestic due to its configuration and its magnificent view of the  Morvan Regional Natural Park to find there my 3 botanists in full debriefing after a session of surveys and notes completed with photos of species."     In fact, a plant is broken down into 3 parts which are the roots, the stem and the leaves and these 3 data determine the configuration of the plant whose reproduction is then ensured by the flowers and fruits resulting from their fertilization which have very forms and this depending on the species and the botanist, whether professional or an enlightened and well-trained amateur,is also to a certain extent a scientist who studies botany or plant science in the field, in the laboratory or in botanical gardens"      Yvon CROIZER, Jean Pierre LANSELIN and Francine RICHARD tell me while showing me with their fingers the radiant landscapes of the Morvan. In total harmony with its geological configuration in an environment often integrating surprises at every step that it is also interesting to discover during mountain bike trips in its many natural spaces, the Massif Du Morvan also delights, in addition to those passionate about discovering flora, fans of fauna and escapades off the beaten track in this region which, in addition to its shimmering territories, also integrates the particularity of maintaining an environment far from any excessive human presence that it is exciting to discover and which is the very living expression of the environmental wealth of our country and the men and women who make it live.
